It helps a person notice who may welcome connection today, choose a small question, activity, act of care, or repair, and keep what happened in a family journal. An Apple Watch companion supports quick moment logging from the wrist. ## Who it is for UsJot is designed for people who want more intentional connection with children, teens, partners, grandparents, adult relatives, blended families, multigenerational families, and chosen family. One app holder privately manages the people and journal on their iPhone. ## How it works 1. Add people one at a time with optional photos, birthdays, interests, and a rhythm the user wants to share. 2. The living rings bring one person into focus without public scores or competitive streaks. 3. Choose a rotating suggestion or write a custom question, activity, or moment. 4. Log what happened with an optional note or photo. 5. The person's visual position responds as moments are recorded, and the memory appears in the journal. 6. Nightly Rhythms and Family Traditions use the same ring feedback path, including multi-person moments. ## Journal and photos The journal can include spontaneous moments, a child's thought, the app holder's memory, repeated family rituals, and optional photos. Data stays on the iPhone by default. UsJot does not operate a family photo server. UsJot Plus can create, list, restore, and delete backups in the user's private iCloud database. Restoring replaces the current local journal. If iCloud storage is full or unavailable, the local journal remains on the iPhone and the app reports that backup could not be completed. ## Nightly rhythms and family traditions The free version supports unlimited manually created nightly rhythms and family traditions. Nightly rhythms use a rolling seven-day view and a gentle default target of three nights. A completion counts once per local day. There are no failed streaks, red misses, rankings, comparisons with other parents, or missed-night warnings. Three nights is product guidance, not a scientific threshold. Traditions can recur weekly, monthly, seasonally, annually, or on a manually selected next date. Families can Keep, Adapt, or Let It Rest. Occurrences can include several people, notes, and photos. UsJot Plus adds premium rhythm templates, repeated-moment shortcuts, annual photo tradition stories, favourites, all activity packs, Rhythm Drops, and private iCloud Family Backup. ## Activities The free version includes 25 rotating starter activities. Suggestions rotate across questions, activities, care, and repair. Users can write their own question or activity when a suggestion does not fit. UsJot Plus includes all 15 current image-led activity packs. Packs are designed for different ages, relationships, seasons, and situations. Individual packs are permanent in-app purchases. UsJot Plus also includes favourites, remembered regular moments, adaptive suggestions, Rhythm Drops, and private iCloud Family Backup. ## Apple Watch The Apple Watch companion shows today's person and warm step. It can log a quick moment such as a hug, call, question, prayer, or play, and it can show and complete active nightly rhythms. Offline deliveries use duplicate identifiers so the iPhone does not save the same completion twice. UsJot Plus is optional and is offered monthly or annually.
